Connect Right: Balance, Backpacks & Brandon Flowers

Week two, here we are. These days go by way too quickly. Is there ever going to be enough time to do it all?! Maybe that's the universe's way of saying "slow down, my friend." Sounds like I need more yoga, and less pressure "to do" e v e r y t h i n g. Balance is a work in progress I have learned. You can read more about how I try to balance work, creativity and lack thereof in my interview with Ringlet DC here. And now for the good stuff you came here for.....

My favorite bag from Shop Enat

If you watch my insta stories, then there's a high probability that you have seen this bag.  I originally saw this brand all over social media in early 2017, noticing that one of the founders, Olivia, was local to the area and immediately reached out to her. I had to know more about this movement and the story behind the bag. Best friends Olivia and Eliza started Enat in 2015 with the mission to produce a product that was not only sustainable but high quality and responsible. While the bags are manufactured in Ethiopia, the girls have strong ties with the small businesses they work with and work hard to ensure that the materials are recycled and upcycled. The quality of their products is immaculate. From venturing around the Amalfi Coast to running from photo shoot to meeting in the DIstrict, this bag has carried both me and my business through crazy adventures and supported the weight that comes with being a small business owner.

Shop local with these bags and pick yours up at Salt & Sundry

WHAT I'M LISTENING TO THIS WEEK...

The Killers.

You may be thinking, "this isn't 2004, Kara." You are correct. But, I saw them at The Anthem last week for one of my best friend's birthdays, and my love for Brandon Flowers, his flawless style, and mesmerizing energy has me back on that 'not getting out of the car until I sing every word to All of These Things That I've Done Kick.'

Listen to: "Here With Me," "The Way It Was," and their cover of Direstraits' "Romeo and Juliet."
